Australian Biathlon Association
The Australian Biathlon Association Inc. (ABA) is the body responsible for managing the sport of Biathlon in Australia. The ABA is an incorporated association under the Victoria Associations Incorporation Act 1981.
The ABA is a member federation of the International Biathlon Union (IBU), the body responsible for the management of Biathlon worldwide. The IBU recognises the ABA as the governing body for Biathlon in Australia. The ABA is therefore responsible for the nomination of athletes to represent Australia at World Cup and World Championship level.
The ABA is also a member federation of the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC). The ABA has two delegates to the AOC who regularly attend AOC Annual General Meetings and other AOC organised events. State Divisions
While the ABA is responsible for managing the sport at a national level, there is one State divisions which are responsible for managing Biathlon in Victoria and one under development in NSW. Any State division created will be known as the NSW Association. In Victoria the State division is Biathlon Victoria (AVBA).
